Bio

JD Roberto has spent decades captivating audiences as a TV personality, writer, director, and producer. Since 2018, he’s been a featured creator for Amazon Live Shopping, streaming to more than half a billion shoppers worldwide and becoming a trusted, knowledgeable voice whose authenticity keeps audiences coming back. In New York, viewers know him as a regular guest co-host and lifestyle correspondent on New York Living — the live, daily lifestyle show on PIX11 that blends entertainment, culture, and conversation with the energy of the city itself.

When the world rang in 2025, JD was in the heart of it — co-hosting Coast to Coast 2025 live from Times Square, welcoming millions into the new year with the kind of electric energy only that night can deliver.

JD brought heart and high stakes to Battle of the Ages, the family-friendly game show on BYUtv, and broke new ground as Executive Producer and Host of Daily Burn 365 for which JD was Emmy®-nominated as a host and producer as he pioneered streaming workouts years before they were everywhere. He also helmed the nationally syndicated The Better Show, earning an Emmy® nomination for his work, delivering five days a week of celebrity interviews, expert advice, and lifestyle inspiration to millions of homes across the country.

From shopping showdowns to cooking face-offs, JD has hosted it all. Game show fans know him from the long-running Shop ‘Til You Drop, Animal Planet’s You Lie Like a Dog, the Food Network’s high-energy Food Fight, and the globe-trotting scavenger hunt Cut To The Chase on TBS. He’s also brought his quick wit and on-camera ease to the anchor desk as a regular guest host for E! News Live.

Reality TV fans will recognize JD from some of the genre’s most talked-about moments — hosting ABC’s How To Get The Guy, TBS’s hit Outback Jack, Discovery Channel’s Alaskan Adventure Challenge, and the headline-making Are You Hot?. He’s also taken viewers behind the curtain as host of American Idol Extra and Reality Remix for the Fox Reality Channel, giving fans insider access to their favorite shows and stars.

Music fans know JD as the Webby® Award-winning host of Song Pop Live, the daily, app-based game show spun from the wildly popular music trivia app, and as host of Next Great Family Band, a search for — you guessed it — the next breakout musical family. And in a true bucket-list moment, JD helped kick off Season 39 of The Price is Right alongside Drew Carey, spending a month as Guest Star announcer and inviting lucky audience members to “Come On Down!” for their chance at TV history.

A sought-after voice-over artist, JD has lent his signature sound to The Pyramid on GSN, Blue Collar Auction starring Bill Engvall, and national ad campaigns heard coast to coast.

On screen, his acting credits span film, TV, and theater — from Frasier, All My Children, Passions, and General Hospital to The Mask of Zorro, ‘Til Night, Nautilus, Family Matters, Step by Step, and a recurring role on The New Adventures of Robin Hood. On stage, he’s performed everywhere from New York’s Theatre for the New City, SoHo Rep, Playwrights Horizons, and The Metropolitan Opera to The Laguna Playhouse, where he starred in the critically acclaimed Picasso at the Lapin Agile.

Here's a bunch of other photos from random stuff that's old and isn't really listed in this bio but, if you've read this far down the page, you're obviously just killing time so...here you go:

A prolific and opinionated writer, JD has tackled everything from travel to politics to parenting in the pages of the Los Angeles Times, The Huffington Post, Parents Magazine, The Bump, and LA Parent Magazine. His travel writing has appeared on Discovery Channel’s award-winning World Hum site, and his screenplay Heavy Water was a top 10 finalist in Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope Screenwriting Competition. He has also written multiple feature film scripts for hire.

When he’s not in front of the camera or behind a keyboard, JD wears many other hats — ordained minister, certified SCUBA dive master, and licensed EMT in both California and New York.

He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting (with honors) from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Play and Screenwriting from the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver School of Film and Television.
